Rainbow Works L.L.C. is a locally owned Mom and Pop business which specializes in providing KU students housing options in unique historic 19th century homes that have been inhabited by generations of KU students. Living in a century year old restored home is an investment in KU tradition and historic preservation.
We restore 100+ year old houses, maintaining their original traditional style, while adding all modern amenities and comforts. We are known for doing remarkable restorations (check out the Miracle on Ohio Street, which is one of the houses you can live in!), and take great pride in our work. For us, restoring is as much a passion as a business.
We have provided homes for over 3000 KU students in the last 17 years, and are dedicated to taking care of our tenants during their stay with us.
Our fine restored historic homes all have original wood work, hardwood floors, large windows feature light, tall ceilings, large living and dining rooms and all amenities:
- Central Air
- Appliances
- On-site laundry
Some of our homes have additional parlor rooms, creating large open communal spaces to socialize in and, of course, the romantic front porch and yard to relax in.
House sizes range from a twelve bedroom house on Ohio St, right down to three bedroom houses, and one and two person apartments.
Properties are located are on Louisiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Vermont Street, and Connecticut St.
